FREE Rescue Clinic & BBQ/Potluck for locals at The River Store!

 For those who are kinda new to the river or need a refresher, Gigi from The River Store will be doing a FREE on-water basic safety and rescue skills clinic Saturday afternoon before the BBQ. Send your junior paddlers or refresh your own skills and then come and chow down afterwards at the River Store. Details below:
Meet @ the River Store @ 11:30 on Saturday July 26th.

The class will head to the South Fork American River to work the following skills from 12-4:30

Kayak based rescues for novices including: boat/person/gear tow’s, bull dogging your boat, hand of god,
Throwbagging skills and Swimming skills.

Location: Henningsen Lotus Park (parking is not included) Meet at the shop to see about car pool options.

Boats are not included for this clinic, if you need a boat please contact The River Store and get set up in our demo program to use a boat (we will give you a extra day on your program if you use it for this clinic)

If you have your own throwbag please bring it to use.  The River Store has many to use for the clinic but it is always good to use your own gear. Also please bring a rescue jacket if you have one for tows. The River Store will provide some to share if folks would like to try it.

SKILLS needed: basic paddling skills needed you will be crossing currents, catching eddies, & and attaining up river. Rolls are recommended but not required, you must be able to bow rescue.
