Visions of the West~ART ON THE DIVIDE COOPERATIVE GALLERY~October 3-26
Art on the Divide Gallery is excited about the results of our “Call to Artists” for the Visions of the West Collection. This was an invitation to display works in a show as part of the Cowboy Gathering which will be held in Georgetown on October 18th and 19th.
Seventeen artists from Northern California and Nevada submitted artwork which is Western or Native American in theme. The quality of all the work submitted was excellent, and forty two pieces were selected for the show. These will be exhibited during the month of October, along with Western works by the Gallery artists.
The Visions of the West Show runs from Friday October 3rd until the end of the month, and includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, photographs, baskets, gourds, pottery, mosaics, jewelry, and leather sculpture. We are pleased with the great variety and beauty of the works in this show, and believe you will be too.
The Gallery invites everyone to The Artist’s Reception which will be held on October 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. This is one week before the Cowboy Gathering to avoid conflicting events and to allow the artists, their friends, and the community, a special time to preview the show. Marion “Doc” Cole, dressed in authentic costume, will provide entertainment playing his Native American flute in the gallery garden during the reception. While enjoying the art work, please take time to vote for your favorite, as the gallery will later present a People’s Choice award.
Art on the Divide Gallery is located in one of Georgetown’s Historical buildings at 6295 Main Street, between the fire station and the American River Inn.
