Travelers on Highway 49 through Marshall Gold Discovery State Historical Park often notice the Old West facade of the Gold Trail Grange Hall. Many will stop for lunch at Home on the Grange or admire the El Dorado County Farm Trails Quilt Project or pose for photos in front of the Murphy cannon. While a great visitor destination, the Grange has much more to offer members of the community.
Community Events and Service
Gold Trail Grange provides events and services for the entire community to enjoy. All Grange sponsored events are open to the public and include the annual Holiday Market, monthly potlucks, educational events, concerts and dances, and South Fork FilmFest. The hall has a capacity of 250 making it one of the largest indoor venues in the area for concerts, banquets, wedding receptions, and private celebrations.
History and Mission
Visitors assume the Grange Hall is part of the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historical Park, but the building actually predates the establishment of the park around it. Community members joined together in 1926 to donate the land, money, and labor to build the hall for the benefit of residents and visitors. We partner with various local groups such as the American River Conservancy, Gold Discovery Park Association, Coloma-Lotus Chamber of Commerce, local farmers, artisans, artists, and civic leaders to bring important and interesting events and activities to the Coloma Valley.
